High Definition IP CCTV in Chelmsford, Essex

Birch Technical Services were commissioned to design and build a new CCTV system covering the common parts and public areas of Lockside Marina, Chelmsford. The aim was to deter criminal activity and anti-social behaviour, and to improve overall site security.

The project involved the installation of 16 high-definition IP CCTV cameras, with each remote building linked to the central recording point using high-speed wireless backhaul. This allowed for reliable transmission of video feeds without intrusive cabling. A key feature of the system was an integrated ANPR camera, positioned to log vehicle registrations at entry and exit points.

The team also delivered full containment and network cabling works, rack installation, wireless bridging, and associated electrical services – all completed on a tight three-week schedule.
